Why do we tend to accept lower expectations as we go through life? Maybe it is drilled into us as we grow up, “Don’t expect too much; that way, you won’t get your feelings hurt!”
I say to hell with that way of thinking; let’s expect the best in every aspect of our lives. We must live it and spread great expectations to every person within our sphere of influence. A good place to begin is with our children and maybe our siblings.
While different forms of opportunity exist around us, we often see limitations and roadblocks. Sometimes, a feeling of inadequacy causes us not to pursue jobs/positions/business opportunities for which we are perfectly qualified. The next time you feel self-doubt, take the time to do a written analysis of your qualifications.
Being around positive-minded, achieving people can also help improve your perspective. If you see yourself in a dead-end situation, you must begin taking actions that will take you to a more positive position and a better overall situation. Always operate from a glass-half-full mentality rather than a glass-half-empty mindset.
It may seem silly, but in my experience, assuming the positive almost always works.
