Browsing Instagram, I found this photo tribute to a caregiver. This issue on Aging deserved to honor Millicent Garland's image. Gate open - Victorine

I recently had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful soul. She is my mother-in-law's new caretaker. Kind, soft-spoken, with a sweet spirit that was evident as soon as I met her.
While photographing her, I couldn't help but notice the scars on her face. I asked if she wanted me to remove them during the editing process. She explained that they were burns that she had had for so long that they were now a part of her. Understood.
Real people. Real photography.
