Nature best demonstrates the notion of “Process” primarily because it’s never ending. From a Universal standpoint, process exists everywhere. From the nucleotides in our DNA to a Supernova, a process occurs.
Energy, in motion, serves as the principle behind process; i.e., process is dynamic, consistently changing towards some enfoldment and beyond. Virtually all that exist can be classified as a process. An old piece of stone or concrete slowly, but constantly, erodes. Steel rusts. Money disappears. Age.
Intelligence can be considered a process, as well. But on the brighter side of things, intelligence strives to improve its environment, whereas, process does not discriminate positively or negatively. The big question here is which came first: intelligence or process? That you can debate over some wine and cheese.
From a scientific point of view, the basis of most research centers around finding the process, albeit, how things work. Whether looking through a microscope or a telescope, identifying the process is the key motivator. Understandably so, once the process is determined, outcomes can be predicted.
Billions of dollars are spent each year with pharmaceutical research. Every atom has its place and when combined with another atom, sets off a series of actions. Where do these actions take you can be joyful or frightful. One can say that finding a cure for a disease deserves a celebration, on the other hand, the horrifying effects of the atomic bomb still intimidates society.
Smart Eater
Virtually all the food we consume has been, in one way or another, processed. After the mother cow is milked, you can process a myriad of things from cream to butter, to cheese, to yogurt, to cottage cheese, and back to artificial cheese spread in an aerosol canister (yucko). How about that delicious hotdog or sausage? Have you ever been to a rendering meat plant? Where in the food process stages do they generate the infamous frankfurter? Best if you don’t go there.
Did you know that everything in your body has a process to it? Did you know that your blood constantly rejuvenates daily and your liver rejuvenates about every third month? Not necessarily true for head of hair for guys, who finds the thinning and loss of hair not a promising process.
One of the most beautiful processes we can marvel over is procreation; whether a newborn infant or budding flowers, for me it’s a miracle and wondrous event. When I sit back and ponder over the magnificence of how Nature constantly evolves, ceaselessly, and in many cases dynamically, I am in awe. From a sound of a bee to the roar of a volcano, Nature dictates its power to process without any conditions placed upon itself: she always processes herself.
As humans, are we aware of how we process our thoughts and behaviors? For the most part, I can say: “Not really.” There are many subliminal processes taking place that we are unaware of. From staying healthy to membership in one society or culture, must people flow and follow. Self-governing and sovereignty are not given the attention it needs and people find themselves in unwanted circumstances instead of cultivating the circumstance that serves their Highest Good.
The “Social Process” needs a lot more attention these days than ever before. Globalization has presented many new rules by which societies need to adjust to. From processing food, water, energy and dealing with climate change, the process of survival has taken us to new heights and troubling confrontations. In the past twenty years, Internet has grown from an in-house communications system to a worldwide network, and how to sustain a viable process is now being jeopardized by theft and international hacking: a corruptible process, indeed.
Everything has a process. Process is not a destination or a goal, rather a way. To improve our health and well-being, to better our societies, and to secure a safe and peaceful environment takes being aware of the many processes and sub-processes that exist. For me, the most profound process concerns how I can improve the relationships of my Mind, Heart and Soul. How I can be more expressive of my Divine Nature, my love for self and my neighbor.
If you ever get bored with Life, eat a mouthful of good chocolate. Dissolve it and savor it well. Feel your body process it. Feel good! After all, you are a process.
