Two Poems: GRATITUDE POEM #ONE and THERAPY

Tekla A. Syers

GRATITUDE POEM #ONE

I cannot be grateful enough.

I cannot be gracious enough OOto offset the grace OOI receive.

I MUST say please. I MUST say thank you. I MUST offer joy.

And I love it this way. What I love and enjoy OOcomes to me.

I have peace of mind, OOlove, OOcomfort OOand faith.

Wherever I am

OOthere is love OOpeace, OOcourage, OOwisdom, OOaliveness, OOand power.

I am these.

There’s more than enough OOof everything I desire.

I know because there’s always more OOto be had.

Time is mine.

I choose my life OOdecision by decision.

All I need is available to me Did I mention, there’s always more?

I’m surrounded on every side OOby opportunities for pleasure, OOamusement, OOaccomplishment, OOand service.

For now OOI am busy OOenjoying myself, OOlaughing and learning.

I choose my mood OOand live in that environment.

I enjoy the colors, OOand sounds, OOand tastes, OOand smells, OOtextures, and OOthe always thrilling something more.

I am grateful

Good abounds.

Life lives as me.

THERAPY

Shining truthlight OOon these dark secrets

Searching the corners OOin my heart and mind.

Owning OOmy denials and deceits.

Acknowledging OOthe less than OOIn me.

Leaving lies OOno place to hide.

Letting die OOwhat must die.

Doing what’s best OOwith the worst in me.

And living OOmy life anew.
