Do you think it’s essential to be aware of your thoughts? I think yes, and so do many experts, speakers, scientists, biologists, teachers, neuroscientists, philosophers, leaders, researchers, and many more. The more we learn about how our thoughts work, the more we understand how powerful our abilities are to begin intentionally creating our life experiences by becoming aware of our thoughts.
According to an article published on scienceabc.com, “Thoughts are generated in the brain, which is composed of 100 billion nerve cells that transmit impulses through the synapses. In other words, thoughts are electrochemical reactions.”
Joe Dispenza writes, “Every time we have a thought, we make a chemical. If we have good thoughts, we make chemicals that make us feel good. And if we have negative thoughts, we make chemicals that make us feel exactly the way we are thinking.”-Joe Dispenza / NY Times Best-selling author / Neuroscientist / Researcher / Speaker
How powerful do you think your thoughts are? You may have heard the saying that you are what you think. Or maybe that’s what you eat? Well, perhaps both.
Are we the product of our thoughts? Do our experiences shape themselves from the electrochemical reactions (thoughts) that create vibrational frequencies (wavelengths) and extend into the energy field around us? Do these frequencies search out matching frequencies in the form of life experiences? Many researchers in neuroscience and epigenetics are bringing us tried and tested research data to say the answer is yes.
So, what can we do with that information? Do our thoughts affect our physical bodies? Do our thoughts affect our environment? Can we create positive changes in our daily lives by understanding something as simple or complex as our thoughts? Let’s rustle through some expert opinions on thoughts for a bit:
“A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks he becomes.”
-Mahatma Gandhi / Indian lawyer promoting peace and non-violent resistance
“Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”
-William Shakespeare / Renowned English poet, playwright, and actor
“The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking.”
-Albert Einstein, / Theoretical physicist / developed the theory of relativity
“Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life.” -Tony Robbins / NY Times best-selling author / coach / speaker / philanthropist
“What we think about ourselves becomes the truth for us.”
-Louise Hay / Multi-national bestselling author / speaker / activist
“The mind is the software of the body, and the external environment is the hardware.”
-Dr. Bruce Lipton, Ph.D. / Stem cell biologist / Epigenetics researcher / bestselling author
“It is in your thoughts that is determined whether you will be happy or unhappy, whether you will be healthy or unhealthy.”
-Norman Vincent Peale / Clergyman / Bestselling author
Following what the “thought” leaders are stating, are you beginning to think about your thoughts? How do you think your physical body is affected, and how do you think it may react when practicing negative self-talk, like how you dislike your body? Or how much discomfort your body is experiencing? Or how you wish your body were different, or how much you hate your body.
How do you think your environment is affected, and what experiences do you connect with when you consistently state that everything is always going wrong? Or how you never catch a break? Or how if something terrible is going to happen, it will happen to you?
Let’s go back for more “thought” leader advice.
“When we create peace, harmony, and balance in our minds, we will find it in our lives.”
“Our thoughts and beliefs are like a switch that turns our genes on or off.”
-Dr. Bruce Lipton, Ph.D.
“If you are thinking about, talking about, and spending energy on what is missing in your life, what is wrong, what you don’t like, or what always has been, then you will continue to attract those things into your life. We become what we think about.”
-Dr. Wayne W. Dyer /Bestselling self-help author / motivational speaker
“The happiest person is he who thinks the happiest, most interesting finest thoughts! And that’s a fact.” -Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
“Same thoughts always lead to the same choices, same choices lead to the same behavior, and the same behaviors lead to same experiences, and the same experiences produce the same emotions, and these emotions drive the very same thoughts.”
-Dr. Joe Dispenza
The bottom line is that you can make this as simple or complicated as you choose, but the best thing is that it is your choice. Your life is your choice. We are vibrational beings with power that I’m not sure we will ever fully understand. Our thoughts are electrical currents of different frequencies according to what we are thinking. Our thoughts are a choice. When you realize that your thoughts about yourself and your environment are always in your control, you can start to create a masterpiece of your life that you didn’t even know was possible.
Your life is your vibrational flow of frequency, always your choice.
Mindful practices are the best place to start. Becoming aware of what you are thinking is the first step to claiming the fullness of what your life can be.
