“Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.”
~Albert Einstein
If Einstein is correct, everything is energy moving about in the universe, and everything is eternal. That includes us. When you consider his statement, the world
becomes at once simple and utterly profound. Our energy or life force continues past our last breath when our spiritual energy transfers to…well, out. That ‘something’ leaves us. If you have ever been with someone as they transitioned, you can feel the energy shift occur in the room, and somehow their physical remains just look smaller.
That invigorating essence is no longer bound in their body. Many have experienced it but struggle to find the words to describe it. As my Hilda used to say about death, “We go back into the soup.” I’m not sure where that statement originated, but it pretty well sums it up.
At that moment, our energy transfers out into the Universe, into the realm of the divine, into the next plane, and the next incarnation…it all depends on your belief system. Whatever the outcome is, it is precious to think that, on some level, we are all eternal. As a friend of the Hindu faith said to me,” We are all part of God. God dwells within me. God dwells within you. We are all gods.”
As someone from the Christian faith, those statements are challenging on some levels, yet I find them extremely beautiful. As a Christian, I might digest it more as the presence of the divine dwells with me and my fellow man – that spark of energy from the ‘Source’ that animates my being. My friend said these things in the context of respecting every living thing as divine and as a representation of God, the Divine, the Source. How can you disrespect someone you see sharing the same essence as God? I think we can sense that energy even if we have difficulty negotiating how to understand it.
There is something special about our energies. We recognize it. Often, we can sense when someone else is near or looking at us without being able to explain it. You feel it. Maybe that is just our energy recognizing another’s force – our divinity recognizing another’s. By the same token, you can often recognize someone attuned to your same energetic frequency – those with whom you feel at ease and automatically click with.
As we move through life, challenges and opportunities will occur - the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, the opportunity to shift directions, or being placed in the path of someone in need. We choose how we receive those events and how we act. We all have the choice to wear halos or horns. Our emotions are energies vibrating at different frequencies. Peace and joy vibrate at a much higher frequency than discord and hate.
Our emotions (our energies) produce ripples that radiate into the world and the Universe. We may recognize that concept in whatever language we best understand – what we put out is what comes back to us; as we sow, so do we reap, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Thinking higher, being better, walking in joy, and not fear all take the practice of a lifetime. If Einstein is correct, those ripples we create affect ourselves, everything, and everyone around us. Take a breath. Be a better version of yourself and make good ripples in the Universe. I wish you love and light. Cannonball!
