Dedicated to Tyire Hassan Mitchell
By Tekla A. Syers
Â
Â
Dear Spirit Being,
Â
I look into your eyes,
  and I see more.
Â
In the depths in your eyes
  I recall my own Oneness
  with All. I remember you
  where and when
  we had no names.
No hands. No feet.
No stuff.Â
Â
I remember Oneness,
  Love,Â
  and Life
  eternally.
Â
Be not deceivedÂ
  in this realm of senses.
You are more!
Â
The evidence of your senses,
  regardless of scale,
  erodes. You endure.
Â
You animated bits of matter
  for your experience here,
and acquired a bit of amnesia
  as to why you came.
Â
Â
In your journey
  of discovery,
  be not seduced
  by the impermanence
  of matter. It’s erosion
  is not your fate.
  You are more.
Â
Even your forgetfulness
  has not diminished
  your capacity,Â
  your Being in All.
Â
Remember,
You have power and dominion
  over your experiences.
Exercise them.
Â
You are forever
  One with All.
Â
Thank you,
Glorious Spirit Being.
Â
My glimpseÂ
  into your eyes,
  your boundless
  expression of joy,
  remind me
  of my own glorious identity.
Â
RememberÂ
  what you are.
Â
You are more.
