Change is difficult. One of the greatest changes that has taken place within me is in God allowing me to witness how It does things, verses the wonderful way I do things. And, I can even expand this to include my partner in Ministry Rev. Dr. Sabrina Ray as she spoke when we started out ministry together, “Bob, I don’t want to do anything outside of the guidance of Spirit.” Change, oh yeah, a great one.
Change requires a constant letting go of people, places, things and ideas. Yes ideas. I found myself watching the History Channel one evening and there was a show on called, “Woodstock Then and Now.” Hendrix, Vietnam, American Flag Burnings, Oh My God, I was stuck in a place forty years in the rears. The attitudes were no longer viable as the circumstances have changed. I had to shake myself into the now. The growth that has occurred in me is the change that I speak of. Some growth and letting go of beliefs, shakes you to the depths of your being. Especially when you realize that most things that you want to pick up as a cross are not yours to do. That’s a big one. Just keep your eyes open.
Change is one of the best things to ever happen especially when you change your perspective on something, or change your mind. In Truth, I was taught mental science as were most of us including my pastor Sabrina. You know, mental equivalents to somehow balance in spirit so that the appearance of imbalance goes away. For example; “What’s bothering you?” Oh that means that you are feeling guilt which has manifested into… whatever, you know. But the change, the difference that Dr. Ray and I have both noticed in our experience is that we now stand as transparencies, clear vessels for the prospering, healing power of the Love of God to flow through. We need not know anything outside of wholeness and health. What a change, and this one was not difficult at all.
God has a way of clue-ing us into the change that is our life. How, do you say? That’s an easy one; by the WORD that you speak over yourself. That’s how to effect the change and it is also reflective of the change. But be mindful, even the change that you desire in your life is difficult. It requires some work with yourself that will be resultant in new behavior and new thoughts about yourself. People, places and things will be shifted around so that only those things supportive of you remain. You will know for yourself how blessed you are. The greatest change of all now happens as you begin to experience a state of Peace. Change is the only constant in life. Change is difficult.
