Quilt honoring filmmaker Gloria Rolando

The stunning quilts by Linda Asbury celebrate the legacy and history of Black people. While the quilt featuring Gloria Rolando (above) initially drew my attention on social media, it was her work on Mama Wata, the formidable Water Spirit, that prompted me to invite her quilts to be featured in Garden Spices. Her video conveys her mission and the driving force behind her advocacy and creative endeavors, highlighting human rights. Gate open. - Victorine
