A Call to Action





The winter season of rest, slumber, and inactivity has morphed into spring, which calls for awakening mindfulness, renewal, and energetic action. By the Christian calendar, we have come to the Lenten season. It was by considering all of this that I came to create a meditation for myself that others might find useful. I call it:

 Peggy Weaver is a Chicago native who received a bachelor’s degree from SIU, Carbondale, Illinois, and a master’s degree from Cambridge College, Cambridge, Massachusetts, both in education. She worked as a bilingual (Spanish) primary teacher and later as a Visual Arts Specialist in the Chicago Public Schools. She also worked as a mental health administrator for a private non-profit in San Francisco, CA. She retired from Chicago Public Schools in 2012 and worked as a substitute teacher until the pandemic in 2020.


“I like to draw and paint and sometimes write. I love to dance and was a regular stepper at the Rat Pack weekly after-work set and others until COVID. I’ve never married and have no children.”
