We can't navigate around it. Much like our featured video image by Mikel Elam, we are constantly changing, learning, experiencing highs and lows, living, evolving, and aging as part of the journey.

This issue explores diverse perspectives and insights on aging, as our contributors explore the complexities of the aging process. They share their personal experiences and the nuances of caring for themselves and others. And since it's important to laugh at ourselves, we aim to entertain you as well.

Garden Spices embraces many new artists whose works are illuminating and fill us with hope for art as an ongoing process. Holidays are upon us, and this issue radiates with clothing and home design for any season. Naturally, good food is always part of our offerings, and our table looks good.

Garden Spices believes in honoring all traditions of goodwill, and this season brings us numerous holidays: Diwali, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Bodhi Day, Las Posadas, New Year, and Chinese New Year. Each of these traditions has something in common: they celebrate light and invite us to do the same.
