I am always becoming something.
Some days it is quiet.
Just a noticing.
The way a thought arrives.
The way the body leans toward something,
or turns away.
Other days it asks more of me.
To let go of what no longer fits.
To loosen my grip on what I thought I understood about myself.
I have learned that not everything is meant to be finished.
Not every story wants to be told.
Some pass through, asking only to be felt.
And then there are moments that stay.
A face that holds its own light.
A frame that calls gently, without urgency.
Something in the air that says, come closer.
I follow that.
Not always with certainty,
but with a willingness to listen…
not just with my ears,
but with my body too.
I used to believe that all the words in the universe
had already been spoken.
That somewhere, everything had already been said.
Now I feel them differently.
As if they are always moving,
finding new ways to return to us,
asking to be shaped again.
Some become photographs.
Some become language.
Some remain unspoken, but no less real.
I come from people who called the rain.
They stood on the land and listened deeply.
They waited.
They trusted that something unseen would gather and respond.
I think about that often.
Because in my own way,
I am still standing.
Still listening.
Still waiting for what wants to come.
And when it does,
I try to meet it with open hands.
