Y’all, ain’t nothin’ like it! I’m typing fast ’cause I really want to see Dee Dee Bridgewater at Millennium Park. Jazz permeates the musical scene in Chicago, pumps almost every day, and my bestie, Pat Kline, and her posse, Patsy Cooper and Sheila White, don’t miss a beat. What?!

After praising the Lord on Sunday at Trinity United Church of Christ with Black Liberation Theology from Rev. Moss and their choir, I was vibing to Latin music at the Beverly Art Center on Monday. Every day, something is happening musically, but our next big event was the Jazzpalooza. I know I’ve told you this before, but what amazes me is how, even though you will most likely walk a country mile to get to the opening of the event, folks will be in wheelchairs, on walkers, and whatever they have to do to be in the mix. They realize they only have a short window before winter comes. Y’all, check out Indria Perrilloux’s mom, Mama Bergeron, hanging out with us, she has more energy than us at age 98! What?!
