The quest for uniformity
Is not an innate part of me
I once thought it was for me
But it stumped my creativity.
All the things that matter to me
Allow you to see me
As I am
Sometimes a fractured piece
Of history
But it belongs to me
Come see me
As I am
When I float away in pieces
It fractures me
Like a puzzle of complexity
Let me be….me
It takes time to reconstruct
the undertow of me
Until I see it at its full capacity
I’m lost in melancholy
Wondering where the best of me
Has gone….and been
Trying to figure out where to search
For the essence I was so used to seeing
Even while the mirror saw me first
A free being
So I turned around
With a familiar frown
And I practiced being me…..again
Without a sound or breath of wind
And then…
It came to me with clarity
I just can’t start again
Because I’ll lose just where I’ve been
It’s the tragedy of sin
I cannot sin again
No matter where I’ve been
You’ve always seen me
You see me now…. You saw me then
The mirror is here to make us bend
I must throw caution to the wind
Now it’s time to trust
What has always been
And I need not start again
I’ll remember just where I’ve been
…Again
And then…
The mirror is here again
To make me bend
And now it’s time to trust
What has always been
I breathe because of him
I live because he freed me of sin
And if I make up my mind to start again
I’ll remember where I’ve been
He will take me to a place of peace
And as I continue along my way
I’ll find The Who, The What, and Where I’ve been
…….Again
Because all along
My practice taught me
The things I need to know
Because I just left where I’ve been
And this is where I start
…….Again
It’s familiar!
