SHINE
We shine as we harvest
the best and perhaps
most interior intimate awareness
in ourselves and others,
Knowing words of wisdom
and sensual oneness.
At our peril, perhaps
we ignore this interior light within,
this impetus and sense of love.
Where the universe
music and rhythms
can soothe the heart
and shine
and express in this
rhythmic, colorful awareness
with words of love
to another.

"I happen to think the Buddhists have it right when they talk about individuals and society having a tendency toward living in illusion, spiritually or materially." Richard MacKay

OVERCAST
.
Another dire weathercast,
Sometimes the times
seems to indicate
“The end is near!”
Only I don’t live there
in that time/space.
.
For me Endlessness
is forever present
as the local weather mood
and forecast gets dire again,
and we’re crouching
down in a basement,
waiting for the next tornado
or election
to pass over us.
.
Cheers to all,
practicing mindfulness
in your presence here
on this overcast day.
RE MACKAY

Things that inspire me:
Learning in a variety of ways: literary, analytic, experimental, communicational, and being compassionate.
Creative endeavors, such as art, music, poetry, and dance. Hiking in the woods or in nature. Feeling the energy of oneness in nature that is not felt in the city. Strumming on the guitar and composing poetic verses.
The spirit of oneness in my experience. The connection between different facets of my experience, such as visual colors, harmonies, nature, and language. Spirituality is sensing my world as both.
