Miniya Ali with her host Aunt
Loved Ones,
Thank you. Thank you for standing with us, and for considering the myriad perspectives offered by Garden Spices Magazine. We are here with you in the flow of each moment. Our intentions lead the way, and our Contributors invite you into how, where, and when they stand. As usual, they have amazed me.
We open the gate to our youngest Guest Contributor and Feature Image, Miniya Ali, Alabama’s first Global Citizen Year Fellow. She is passionate about exploring the history of cultures, and she is now in the Motherland, Senegal, to embrace her truth and stand in who she is. Indeed, as this young visionary says, “We are the Ones We’ve Been Waiting For.”
Another Guest Contributor, Gloria Lawson Sylvester, in Great Eastern Sun Rising, recounts a mighty legacy of her mother, upon which she stands. While Guest Contributor, Keith Sims in My Stand, shares his experience of standing against bullying, every Contributor shares how this word has impacted their living. Contributor, Linda Isbell, in Take a Stand, even reminds us on how to protect our health by standing.
This issue also provides many opportunities for giving. We support Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Miniya Ali, and the spiritual pursuit of Yeye Omileye Achikeobi-Lewis. Garden Spices continues to be a catalyst for the change we hope to see in the world.
In the midst of all we experience, we cannot help but stand in light. We have holidays mounting to celebrate this truth. The months November and December find almost every spiritual tradition or culture celebrating a holiday – Al-Hija, Baha’u’llah, Bodhi Day, Diwali, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Songkran. Our tradition is to recognize them all. Happy blessings from Garden Spices Magazine!
Gate open!
