Passionate About Finding One’s Own Passion?

So, it’s time to speak of passion. I admit, this one is tough for me. I am still going through life with the idea of finding my passion, and my search narrows down to how I make a living. Having said that, I ask, do I have to, or would it be good to have my passion as my money making machine? Probably not. I feel I gave that a shot, and found that wasn’t my path.

My current passions lie in the home, with friends, and within my own quiet meditation time. Considering the Western view of constant work, I’m not sure if that means I’m successful at life in this world or not. Driving to make more and more money, is that success? I know I do not find passion in stress. Maybe I need to be passionate about finding my own passion?

Maybe I should listen more to MYSELF than Western society thinks I should? I find I have passion for a few simple things. Cooking tasty, healthy food. Spending time with my love, and our cats. Walking, reading, listening to music. But are those good enough? For me? For society? Should I even care what others think?

Once, I was passionate about spreading truth, exposing what may or may not have been lies, only to discover all truth is relative, all are where they are, and my view is my view. That passion is gone. So, where do I go now? While my search continues, I think I’ll stay with my simple, quiet passions that never fail me.
