Dance to the Music

What a wonderful life this is. Not was, not will be, but is right now. Celebrate, celebrate dance to the music. Remember this? Three Dog Night shared with us a while back how to observe and make merry throughout this most excellent adventure. We have plenty of opportunity to just take a moment, reflect or project on this life and celebrate what is right now. I have a favorite saying that all of eternity exists right now. Our right now is chocked full of the wonders of creation and at any time we can just take a minute and honor ourselves and our experience.

Look, even as my boys transition, the memories and good times from the special bonds that were established in life under such auspices as growing up together in the hood, military school, college and so forth and so on, have become an experience of celebration.  They are no longer the once upon a time sad occasion type thing I was conditioned to believe that it was. No! Not at all. It has become time to extol the sound of praises to God for allowing myself and all involved to have such wonderful experiences together.

And here’s the biggie, through it all, the love that I have for myself has me dancing and celebrating myself and my life all over the place. This internal, continuous dance doesn’t even make my basketball knee hurt. How about that? Isn’t it nice that we have come to appreciate ourselves so much? I say about time. Sometimes we have feelings because life did not do what we wanted. Most times I can thank God that it didn’t. That’s just me.

Through it all, whatever our station in life, there is cause to celebrate. If you have trouble coming up with a reason to celebrate, let us take the perspective of one of the greatest Gospel Singers ever, Albertina Walker. As she expressed in her most memorable song, to me, there is always room to celebrate just because, “I’m Still Here!” Love Y’all. Peace!
